Hurstpierpoint Society, founded in 1962, is a well-supported village charity with more than 1,300 members, all committed to improving and protecting our village environment. We take a particular interest in planning issues that might irrevocably damage the appearance and character of this historic village or the ecology of the surrounding countryside.

The village features almost 100 listed buildings and three conservation areas, containing an eclectic mix of architectural styles which we are committed to preserving.

Our bustling High Street contains both listed and unlisted buildings dating from the 14th century, including shops with living accommodation above. This results in a richness of streetscape which defines Hurstpierpoint as a village of character and charm.

The village boasts numerous societies covering a range of activities and interests for all ages. Click on the image below to download the supplement, published in 2022, that provides information on the work of the Society.
